Aw felt quite emotional seeing everyone at New Cross bus depot waving goodbye to London’s last tram

Contact 1985
A real bugbear of mine is an over reliance on music in films. Watching these Alan Clarke ‘Dissent and Disruption’ films is a nice antidote to that.
On the few occasions music was used in Contact, it was always diegetic. Along with the limited dialogue and naturalistic sound design, it made for very compelling viewing.

Walked out of this with half an hour to go. I’d seen enough (and I never walk out of films)
On another note, Mark Kermode styles himself as a horror aficionado but then raves about a film like this. His only takes that can be trusted are his opinions on the classics. A fraud along with that dweeb Simon Mayo

Nosferatu 2024
Well, that was shite! I really liked the Witch because it was brooding and atmospheric. This lacked any of that, and Eggers resorted to cheap gimmicks like bad jump scares time and time again.
PS watched this at picturehouse central in absolutely baltic conditions. I had to put on my hat, scarf and coat during the screening bc it was so cold, and still wasn’t warm enough. Picturehouse – pay your staff a proper wage and put the heating on you greedy bastards!
