  Visually stunning. Beautiful score. Felt like the scenes spilled into each other; would hear the dialogue before the camera moved. I loved the ending. It was understated, and it allowed small expressions and quiet gestures to mark an emotional shift for Lucia.

  This whole movie was one long gasp. Christian Bale plays the role concerningly well… insanity seems to hide in plain sight in the backdrop of 1980s consumerism and excess. Everyone in this film seemed insane but nothing beats his ritual of musical narration, sharply sardonic as he wields an instrument all the more… sharp!

  If you’ll excuse me I have to pause my review to go return some videotapes!
