Fantastic movie top to bottom. Visuals were utterly outstanding. Felt too relevant to our discussions about AI for a movie that was made in the 80’s. Easily one of the best movies ive ever seen

Old enough to dive into the Eddie Murphy classics. The REAL Eddie Murphy classics. This movie was surprisingly heartwarming

DUNE FEVER. The lore. The cinematography. The soundscapes. The spices. The perfect recipe for a well seasoned hollywood blockbuster. 

They had all sorts of these in the 20th century. This feels like the first vintage sci fi blockbuster in a while. 

Bottom line is i need a hit of one them spices

This one had me in the first half. What seems to initially be an intriguing perspective on how we can communicate and understand aliens through linguistics, instead turns out to be another human centric analysis of how the idea of aliens can alter our perception of time, love, and free will. Classic human ego once again acting as though the universe quite literally revolves around them. I would have much rather watched Amy Adams transcribe ancient alien languages and phonology than see her grieve her future dead daughter and ex hubby
