What a beautiful movie. Animation, story, voice acting...just all pretty perfect. If it was preordained that Isao Takahata had to die after making a film, this was the best film for him to go out on. Murder Bury Win 2020
This is a fun little flick about three friends who get caught up in the real life version of their own card game. There are shades of Very Bad Things, but I think this probably has more broad appeal. It's not as gory, although it does have its moments. It's also maybe not as dark? Maybe?
The three leads start off pretty charming and get more and more out of their depth as things progress even if some of them won't admit it. Blood ensues. Good times for all.
