I’ve never seen a movie capture cosmic horror so potently
Unnerving but also beautiful

complete garbage; aside from the total boredom this film gives you, it’s also extremely orientalist
I’ve noticed Anderson likes to portray women of color as a sexual desire and gratification for the white men in his movies without even as so much as developing them as characters, very gross
Uses India in the worst possible way as these 3 unlikeable brothers attempt to go on a “spiritual journey” and uses Indians just as fodder characters without even giving the late and great Irrfan Khan so much as a single line
Anderson continues to test my patience
found this to be pretty disappointing, it’s underwhelming and under executed
Decently shot but filled with YA levels discussion about “fate and destiny”, the dialogue never goes beyond surface level and the film instead opts for long pensive stares that just doesn’t offer anything at all
There’s not much chemistry between the two leads and attempts to be sentimental but it’s completely unearned
This had the potential to be good but never reaches beyond the heights of mediocrity (I’m being generous)
A better version of this movie exists and it’s a Tamil film called "'96"
