Guys, after justtt watching a film about professing faith, lemme just proclaim something real quick: it’s harddd to write self-contained, “elevated engined,” single location scripts this tight with proper payoffs that don’t have things spinning into oblivion, characters evolving into caricatures, and monologues that don’t make you wanna blow your brains out. It was a HUGE film for me then in terms of childhood wonder and it expanded into a HUGE film for me in my adult life in terms of seeing what can be achieved on all scales…

It’s extremely fun to re-watch SPEED for “structural script research reasons.” I SWEAR I took notes! What a treasure, just the whole damn thing. Soundtrack slappps!!! Joe Morton forever. Really need to add this to the annual rewatches…
