Oh, I really, really dug the hell out of this. I can understand people’s leeriness at the tired “why must a villain need an origin story?” trope, especially in the wake of something like "Joker", but man, Gillespie and McNamara really nailed the tone that this project needed to work. I gotta say, I wasn't expecting "Godzilla vs. Kong" to have a scene where Godzilla was thrown from the top of the cell through an announcer's table on the arena floor while Jim Ross screamed that he'd been broken in half.
