really underrated high school movie. all the characters feel very archetypal and it feels like this movie sort of set the archetype anyways. the cheer routines are well done, the music is cool and the jokes all land. Jesse Bradford is amazing at being hot in a quirky way with the faces and smiled he does. this is also one of those movies that could have really benefited from being like a half hour longer and shown more of the east compton stuff.

i feel like the mickey character was really good and so where some of the other people on the ship like nasha and timo but mark ruffalo felt like he was hijacking every scene he was in in a bad way and his character seemed way out of sync with the movie. the whole thing with the creatures circling the ship felt like it lasted forever and by then i was really over mark ruffalo and toni collette by extension.…

Slow and forgettable, I hadn’t fallen asleep at the movies in a long time. Lily Gladstone’s character and performance are pretty good however. I didn’t like Leo (although he nails the accent, I have a buddy from Wichita Falls and he talks just like that) and De Niro was just whatever. Sturgill and Isbell were pretty alright. I also liked the wealthy Osage fashion.

The scene where he’s at the door talking to the lady is the cringiest thing ever (of course done on purpose). He’s a really good actor. Fame by david bowie has no place in this movie. What he did to the kid was so grotesque. Riley Keogh might be my favorite actress of the 10’s. Mostly relies on shock and pretentiousness, both fail.
