This movie is still so damn fantastic, somehow straddling the line of comedy and heartbreak so damn well. This was the last of my revisit of 2019 movies and holy shit was that an amazing year for film.

Part One of this review, paired with a review of the previous Dune movie.

And so, as I approached the end of watching at least one movie per year from my collection going back to 1923, it wasn’t much of a decision to cap it off with Dune Part Two. This is my favorite movie of the year so far, and perhaps my favorite movie of the decade. While the battle at the end of the first installment that culminates…

Watching this in a double feature with Elizabeth The Golden Age was pretty great, amazing performances all around, but these are also great medieval war films. The thing that struck me on this viewing was how amazing the score is in "Mary."

I respect Guy Maddin, although I have a hard time stomaching a lot of his stuff, just from pure creepiness. This is quite reserved on the creepiness scale, and maybe that's what it lacks. It is fun how melodramatic this gets, and the thought experiment of G7 leaders being left alone, speculating incorrectly on everything happening around them. I like the bogman references, I remember a trip to London with my parents in the '90's where my dad was very…

This sets itself apart in the MI series of movies through its visual storytelling and the Hitchcock-like suspense mixed with a mini-Ocean’s 11-style heist factor. The cold open is one of the best in the series. Ving Rhames finally gets a shot at a little spot to shine by showing that he is a bit of the heart of the team, while simultaneously showing his character’s technical expertise. I’m glad this movie doesn’t fall into being a sloppy romantic triangle around Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt. This could really find its way getting bumped up to five stars for just the love of movies.

You can’t have a Host without a Parasite. I tried really hard to come in to this movie cold and based on the name alone I figured it would be one of the Bong science fiction movies like The Host, Okja or Snowpiecer. I didn’t realize it would be one of his straight thrillers like Mother or Memories of a Murder until I was walking up to the ticket counter and heard an old man with his grandson giving him…
