Sometimes it seems difficult to imagine that there was a world in which challenging, adult-themed cinema, both thought provoking and incredibly entertaining was the norm...?
So grateful for repretory cinema !
A 50 year anniversary showing was the occasion, but any excuse to view one of Kubrick's gems on a proper screen must be taken...
    The tragedy of Redmond Berry:

To my mind, a combination of Snowpiercer and The Host that is not as successful as either of those films.

A black cat, capybara, lemur, golden retriever, and a crane experience the end of the world (maybe), and the beginning of a new kind of friendship.
The story is told through animation that is deceptively simple and all together enveloping.
The story is told without human sound or perspective and the animals act like animals- except when they can steer a boat.
Magic: I continue to think about it some two weeks after I saw it.
