Not a bad music documentary. I keep forgetting that weird ass Richard Christy from Howard Stern was the drummer.
Went in fairly blind in this one, even with all the acclaim. Baker didn’t disappoint. He’s really got a knack for mixing gritty realism with comedy/drama. Not sure how he can make a film that is hilarious and heartbreaking in the exact same frame, but yet he does it.
Usually I’m disappointed after seeing a film that wins all the big awards, but this one deserves all the accolades.

6th or 7th viewing
“Dick Laurent is dead.” That is the line that starts and finishes what could be a film ran on a continuous loop. Good performances by Pullman, Arquette, and Getty, but the two Roberts, Blake and Loggia, steal every scene that they are in. Blake, the real-life murderer, as the clad in black, kabuki makeup sporting Mystery Man is as spooky as it gets. Loggia’s short-tempered Mr. Eddy, will make any closeted road-rager envious.
