I feel like this is a polarizing movie. Some people will relate better to Becky (Scarlett Johanson) and just won't understand Enid (Thora Birch) at all. I really get Enid. Enid is lost and knows she's lost, but doesn't know how to become "unlost." She just kind of slips into a sort of quiet comfort about where she is--which we have all done before. That's a very relatable feeling.

Movies that take place in bare minimum sets are kind of a guilty pleasure for me. I will watch almost anything that features a story that takes place in the same room. There are lots of good examples of this, and I think this could be added to that list.

When I first started watching this, I kind of hated it. Now it's one of my favorite movies. This movie is the anti-meetcute.
The relationship these two share is very different from your typical movie. There isn't an internal conflict, the conflict is externalized. They don't have a crazy honeymoon phase that is disrupted by some kind of equally crazy conflict between the two. That's what makes this so beautiful.
Very bold. Is bold the right word? This movie definitely isn’t subtle.
Ever seen Death Becomes Her (1992)? This is basically that movie but with more blood. Ever seen Carrie (1976)? This is basically that movie but with more blood.
