What a ride.
This movie played with my emotions. Funny, shocking, poignant, intense, unpredictable without being too complex, Parasite is remarkably unforgettable.
And it may well be the director’s best film. YET.
Brightburn's premise had so much potential.
Unfortunately, the film just devolved into nothing more than an attempt to apply a new coat of paint on the slasher genre. No character in the film was fleshed out, and every character's decision is typical of what we can expect from a bad horror movie. In short, by the time this film drops its facade and leaves its fresh perspective behind, you will know where it's going to go from there.
Performances are…
Wow.
This film is like the indie music of movies. It's emotional, heartfelt, and beautiful without being inordinately expository. It has barely any dialogue, and will probably test the patience of viewers coming into it thinking that it'll be some sort of supernatural horror movie.
IT'S NOT.
But it didn't bore me at all. It was sad, haunting, and proves that a script doesn't really need much dialogue when it knows what it wants to convey to its viewers -…
I like weird art movies
But what exactly was the point of this one?
