This is lodged so deep into my childhood it's not even funny, and I hadn't seen it for 10+ years...so so good. The songs are, of course, timeless, but revisiting as an adult I'm taken with the deeper elements: Maria reconciling her commitment to consecrated life with her desire to marry and the Von Trapps navigating the invasion of their homeland by Nazis. So much more peril than I remember growing up!
