On the real I’d take the substance to look like Demi Moore.

Tbh I think body horror may just not be my thing!! Also why could literally no one in the movie act except for Demi Moore like every ancillary character learned from some vaudeville slapstick comedy.

Commentary is fine, sure, kinda nothing burger especially for a film that casted a generational beauty to be the “old ugly crone”… like sure love yourself as you are!! You don’t need plastic…

Cautionary tale about letting men yap…

Honestly people randomly tell me so often that they have their “longest conversations” with me so maybe I should take this to heart.

I can tell both actors are very intelligent but I think I genuinely don’t do/see anything conventionally enough to be blown away by the idea that habit/following the masses can be limiting. Rules exist to find the creative loopholes around them, after all.

I usually love bottle episodes/one room films but…

Club classic… also a randomly quotable movie–I can’t have potatoes without remarking that they’re such an exemplary vegetable. Score is great, quips are great, but the sunrise scene is literally one of THE greatest in all of cinema. The timing literally was divinely ordained.

This and La La Land are my sick movies, and therefore, my most watched. I probably “like” Doubt and CMBYN more than this but this was one of my first loves.

It’s just the perfect blend of levity, humor, and romance, while still being nuanced and rich. Joe Wright coming in clutch!!

Rating it any higher would be falling into peer pressure BUT idk I love the music… love Marlon Brando… reference it all the time and scratch my chin the same way he does (semi) ironically with a squint. The random actual Italy interlude is both unexpected and like… not accurate to the Italian American community I’m sure but also cool. Not exactly motivated to watch the further ones… just not my era of movie
