Poor Things 2023
Poor Things is a phantasmagorical, philosophical and deeply sexual (but not in an explorative way) masterpiece that buries deep down into the root of the human condition. It is also the best film I have seen in years.
Bella, through circumstances explained at the end, is an adult woman with the mind of a rapidly learning child. However, although her lack of shame makes her vulnerable, it also frees her from the oppressive Victorian restrictions of the age.
