Good documentary for reviewing the history of the Cold War, if only it weren’t filled with militaristic propaganda, particularly in relation to current events. Many users on Letterboxd and IMDb have done a great job highlighting some of the biases and inconsistencies, so I recommend checking out those reviews.

Under the Sun 2015
The direction in this 2 hour long documentary is both sophisticated and profound. The director skillfully allows the camera to dwell for extended periods on the characters' faces and their expressions, as if attempting to encapsulate the depth of their emotions. The film portrays the utter absurdity of North Korea with a sense of sad solemnity and not-so-well-hidden resignation. This same sense of resignation is mirrored in the countenances of the individuals who speak and move, resembling puppets controlled by the strict regime that stifles any dissenting voices, leaving no space for freedom. Highly recommend to people who enjoy slow-paced, deep, sophisticated documentaries.
