Easily one of the most unique film experiences you'll see today. Very impressed with the commitment to the experimental filmmaking approach, and how well it's executed. It might be off-putting to some, but the POV perspective is key to the immersion with Nickel Boys. On top of this, there's a compelling narrative that underlies a fairly tight and evenly paced film (though admittedly it felt aimless in a few spots).

Pure film spectacle, and beautiful from beginning to end. Hard to be this captivating with a 3+ hour runtime but Chazelle somehow executes it so well. Difficult to even describe Babylon, it just felt like a genre-mosaic...with influences from classics like Chinatown, Pulp Fiction, and even Citizen Kane.
Grateful to TIFF for the advanced screening, please support cinema and see it in-person. The sound and visuals here alone are worth the trip, you'll love every minute of it.
2022 has been a pure contender year, but Babylon is essential viewing in my books...easily in my top 3 for the year🏆⭐.

Imagine trying to think of a first date idea and going with a cemetery so you can both stare at your recently deceased wife's grave. Pure genius.
