Reminds me of After Earth - a sci-fi action thriller that uses a big name to push an intriguing albeit undercooked storyline about space faring survivors crashing onto a non-civilized earth and needing to overcome the creatures that call earth their home.

Put it on when you want the background noise... The dinosaurs are cool enough (albeit EXTREMELY inaccurate) that the scenes with dinos will catch your eye.

Its a surprisingly solid sequel, given how these things usually pan out, but nevertheless it feels bloated in some areas and rushed in others... Certain plotlines don't seem to get the attention they deserve as the film fixates on smaller subjects instead.

Despite this though, it still makes for a good follow-up to the Halloween classic and its flaws can be chalked up to "midquel-itis," given this is merely the first sequel in a planned trilogy.

I'm very surprised that more people weren't into this remake of the David Cronenberg classic... I dare say that it does a lot with the source materials and improves upon it!

Given the femme fatale themes of the original film, it makes sense that the film opts for Rose to belong to a fashion/beauty sector while also ramping up the body horror of the original into a far more climactic ending thats all done in really fun practical effect work!…

Never heard of this film before, stumbled across it while doing a Folk Horror Month binge and was very pleasantly surprised!

Starts out as a normal mystery folk horror film does; someone goes to an isolated part of the world surrounded by wilderness and finds that the townsfolk have secrets they'd prefer not be discovered, but makes a very unique twist in the third act that gives massive vibes of The Exorcist and The Evil Dead!

Give this one a go. I'm genuinely surprised I hadn't heard of this one sooner!
