The subtlety was fantastic. It made this film even more real. Riz Ahmed's performance was raw, very vulnerable. A masterclass in acting.

For someone relatively new to the film industry, Adarsh Gourav has done a phenomenal job. Played his role just right. There wasn't anything absolutely mind-blowing, but it was a great performance. Rajkummar Rao could have definitely done better. Accent was half-baked and performance was below average. Although predictable, the story was interesting and made me feel like watching till the end. The voiceover throughout the movie was unique, not many films have that. Not a total 4, but above 3.5. I'd expected a movie which makes me feel, but the ending credits left me emotionless. 2.5 stars only. Most of the credit goes to Taron Egerton's BRILLIANT acting. This one left me utterly baffled in the end. After reading up a little, I realised that this film has the ability to fit into multiple interpretations and leaves much to speculation. Wasn't really moved by any of the scenes which people found 'disturbing'. Made me think for sure, yes. But I didn't recoil in disgust. Loved the darkness and intensity. Definitely needs a re-watch.

Edit 1: The seagull smashing scene did surprise me quite a bit. Enacted, shot and edited to perfection.
