  This felt like Sean had the Safdie Brothers over his shoulder on this one. Surprisingly humorous and devastatingly raw at the same time. Having said all that - I do wish we would have gone a little deeper into Anora's character as it felt like we mostly watched her simply react to all the crazy shit going on around her along the way - as entertaining and thrilling as it was, I would have loved to have gone further into her own backstory a little more. This didn't quite live up to all the hype for me but still good.

  This will be stuck in my mind for the rest of the year maybe. It’s one of the most depressing movies I’ve seen in quite a while, but it really pulls on something I can relate to in my own life in some ways. Escapism became a necessary and thankfully positive outlet for me as a kid and young adult, but I often wonder about what happens when that goes too far. Trance-like imagery, performances, sound design, and soundtrack. This felt like a nostalgic lucid dream.

  Some of the best horror atmosphere and cinematography I’ve seen maybe. The score was gorgeous and intense. Lily certainly stole the stage with an incredible unhinged performance. Everyone was great although I’d say something about Aaron’s performance at times seemed slightly weaker than the rest. Overall I think this movie focused in on the romantic/dread elements a bit more than actual horror (not really a complaint though) and I think it would have been cool to see just a hair…
