A very gritty, gothic Batman. One of the best renditions on screen so far. Dano’s Riddler is among the most terrifying and unhinged villains in recent memory. Kravitz’ Catwoman is sultry, method and leads superb onscreen chemistry with Pattinson. Something in the way? Not for this Batman.

Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022
A beautiful, absurd, fever-dream. Surreal and ambitious in it’s execution yet somehow maintaining a low-budget feel seems to be the calling card of the Daniels. This film packs a googly-eyed punch with equal parts heart and complexity. The handling of the multiverse aspect feels fleshed-out and well executed without being too obscure. Despite the 2.5 hour runtime, it felt like a 3 hour film but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. There are moments of quiet among the chaos that lengthen, yet balance the film and leave you wondering, “what’s next?”

Spirited Away 2001
One of my absolute favorite animated films. Iconic as well as avant-garde, this film will seem to be all over the map with direction and plot. It is necessary to note that while watching this film, you are experiencing this fall down the rabbit-hole with Chihiro for the first time as she is. Things will be obscure and ambiguous throughout but the magic of this animated film is just that. You never know what will happen next. There are many…
