I really wish there were more scenes that highlighted the deteriorating nature of Priscilla’s and Elvis’ relationship. Honestly imo Elvis appears at most flawed because of how apologetic he is shown throughout the film. Yes, it is clear that he is emotionally manipulative throughout their relationship however, the contrast between all the happy moments is really off putting. I guess this is Coppola’s way of showing that things don’t always appear the way they are on the outside but to me it just makes the film feel really neutral.

The Zone of Interest 2023
I appreciate the different take on storytelling of WWII as opposed to the multitude of war films that already exist. I loved the intentional background noise and its contribution to the overall immersion of the film. I think that’s one aspect that makes the zone of interest so creative and interesting. Beyond that, the irony in the dialogue and the subtle references to the context of the situation were well incorporated throughout. I think what especially makes this film provoking…
