Polarizing is what it is.
There's weight to the arguments bashing Igor's character as one built to garner praise for "notallmen", or the lack of depth given to Anora as her well-being and emotions get lost in the situational beating. The movie begs for someone to see her as a human but doesn't really do it itself.
That said, the conclusion revisits the unsatisfactoriness of sex to broken people as salvation and leaves Igor as a red herring.
It's redeeming…
I really believe that without the pandemic and streaming release, this film is the original that Pixar has been waiting for. If it had been released theatrically I think it would've brought a huge draw. They seem to now be stuck in a cycle of revamps, sequels and prequels when for the last decade they relied heavily on their heartfelt originals that people trusted.
