  hm. this thing is like, a shot for shot retread of the comic. and i mean that gets you 90% of the way to the coolest thing ever. i dont think you can blame the parts lost in translation on synder, other than him maybe being too faithful and literal to the source. the reflections on the contradiction of depicting these characters without inadvertently deifying them, or how liberal ideals are realized through exclusively fascist means, just feel so inseparable from alan moore, the historical context of superheros in american culture, and the medium of comics itself.

  will be watching the hbo show tho!
