it did almost everything it set out to do; good jumpscares, interesting plot to expand upon the first movie and did a unique job of bridging the gap with the intro sequence. some GNARLY practical effects. incredible performance from naomi scott!!
as far as a popular, butts-in-seats horror franchise goes, this is a very good horror movie and i recommend it!
it was a fun movie but really didn't feel like a christmas movie. the pg humor got old after a while but i did laugh quite a few times. the actors did a good job with the whole "freaky friday" thing. worth a watch if you want to turn your brain off for dumb fun that was probably written in 20 minutes!
This film gives you everything you want and everything you don't know you want. It's so bloody. Fever dreamy. Beautiful. Draws you in with almost every shot and allows the last bit of juice to be squeezed. Giallo meets Jacob's Ladder meets Tomie. The weird predecessor to 90's j horror I could have never seen coming. I found myself in disbelief through this entire movie. Disbelief at how bat shit crazy this movie is (that last 15 minutes!!!!) And disbelief…
An absolutely hilarious film. As endearing as a film about the mundane, insane, and hopeless can be. It's entirely uplifting or depressing, depending on how you look at it. The last act is about as perfect as can be, as the train completely comes off of Stroszek's rails. It couldn't be more fitting. There are a million things I could say about this one, it's absolutely worth a watch. You'll have a smile on your face almost the entire time.
