crowd was dead silent for the entire film, but largely for the second half. dune was full of appeal, stylization, and fun but part two is even broader. it’s darker and more complex than its predecessor. the biggest battle appears from within. do you choose faith or politics? chance or fear? power or kin? through its runtime, one can see there’s thought put into this story by denie. every character and frame is rendered with such depth and care, even the little things have…

a really fun, weird blend of science and humanity. it contains everything bong joon ho is known for: incisive social critique, stunning visual artistry, and a deeply personal touch, all while breaking away from conventional genre expectations. robert pattinson puts an incredible cartoonish show but naomi ackie is a true highlight. kill politicians, save creepers. kinda adored this.

    “i’m not queer. i’m disembodied.”

luca guadagnino stands out as one of the most daring and unique filmmakers of our time. no project of his is the same as last and will always immerse us in luca's artistic vision. queer starts off as a steamy romance abroad but transforms into a gripping, uncanny narrative of addiction and desperation. how far would you go to build a meaningful connection? what does it take to keep it close? it’s sensual, peculiar, captivating, and tragic—each segment…

saw at the angelika film center with jesse plemons and mamoudou athie in a full theater.

really enjoyed seeing yorgos pick back up his level of absurdism but also smartly explore the lengths people will go through for validation and to prove their loyalty to one another. sometimes those measures can be unthinkable, cruel, or abusive, but since they’re disguised as kindness itself, their prices feel worth paying. it’s fun to watch with a group of strangers and each performance is memorable, but jesse plemons is the film's guiding light. capturing him monotonously uttering "owww" is one of the reasons why cameras were invented.
