Goofy and gory and just a general blast to watch. Infuses vampires with just the right amount of camp, Danny Huston does an amazing job portraying a main villain who is endearingly theatrical but also genuinely freaky, while the main cast is the perfect type of horror movie insert archetypes. Portrays carnage on a massive level, and takes on a quasi-zombie movie structure that I really loved. This isn't trying to be anything except a good time- this movie rocks.

Border Incident 1949
Adopts a unique stance on immigration for it's time, and is strikingly violent in ways I never could've predicted. Ultimately some well-shot, tensely plotted pulp with progressive politics. Not necessarily the game-changer my professor opened the screening with, but certainly a fascinating noir-western-problem-picture.
