This is one of the tightest, most efficient scripts I’ve seen for some time. There are no wasted moments, and every scene is serving multiple purposes, which lets the story unfold in the only way it should. The Wild Robot 2024
A wonderful, heartfelt film. Sometimes these sorts of animated films seem formulaic to pull on your heartstrings, and while this does pull from that playbook, the strong voice over performances and soft, storybookesque animation style provide the evocative flourishes needed to take it up a level. It’s like the writers were huge fans of Becky Chambers books. The only thing I was left longing for was for Roz (the lead robot character) to not be gendered unnecessarily.
