Climax 2018
My top film. A beautifully shot, nonsensical film based off of a true story. My favorite things about this film are 1) the soundtrack and 2) the play structure. With a 1st act, intermission, and 2nd act Noe hooks us with flashy choreography, character building, and world flipping shots before forcing us to watch the characters spiral into madness and bliss.

Inside Llewyn Davis 2013
Made me think of A Chorus Line with the struggling artist plot but here he’s one that just doesn’t quite fit in to the scene anymore + struggling with the loss of his partner (who it seems really made the pair what it was). I love how the film starts and ends with the same scenes as if he stuck in an endless cycle.
