I Saw the TV Glow 2024
I wanted to like this movie more than I did.
On the technical aspect, I loved the colors and everything about the visuals. The sound mixing is atrocious, the dialogue could barely be heard at several points.Now onto the story. I enjoyed the surrealist aspect, however, I felt like the dialogue feels a bit pseudo-intellectual. Felt like I was watching a John Green movie.
I did enjoy the overall story, but some of the metaphors felt a bit forced.
I guess I expected a deeper connection to the film as a trans individual myself, but anyways, I think it's great to have movies like this.

This felt like a different home invasion script that was later renamed The Strangers. It feels like it's all just set up for the inevitable sequel. I did not like that you never feel any sense of real danger from the killers. It felt like they were suddenly now supernatural entities in some scenes. Very frustrating and bland main characters. And the butchering of the iconic line "because you were home" at the end is just irritating! We don't need survivors in every movie. Would not recommend.
