Go in knowing as little as you can. Nerve-racking, uncomfortable, and brilliant. It's the constant stellar performances and gripping direction that make this a masterfully vivid symphony with an unfortunate flat note at the end.

If you were a fan of the book you’ll probably enjoy it, but there’s only so much cringey dialogue I can take. There are so many better romantic gay movies that actually feel romantic and the characters act like humans and not like two cardboard cutouts reciting fan fiction clichés at each other for two hours, watch one of them instead.
