The incredibly ambitious tale of the unwanted inmigrants, of a visionary who crashed upon the shores of classic stubbornness: the American Dream itself. A heartwrenching film that will stick out to audiences long after they see it. It's not perfect (not all scenes flow perfectly, and they coulda had eastern actors instead of using AI to polish the accents), but The Brutalist is one of the very best movies 2024 has to offer. One for the history books.

Once again the people are wrong: Not only is Folie À Deux not terrible, it’s quite a bit better than the first one in almost every category: Script/writing, cinematography, MUSIC, hell even Joaquin Phoenix’s performance feels more focused and poignant in the sequel.

So why are the people angry? Is it because bros think musicals are for sissy girls? Is it because the movie is more of an homage to John Wayne Gacy performing as Pogo the Clown instead of…

Sometimes you see something so strikingly beautiful all you can do is weep and pick your mouth off the floor. The Boy and the Heron really feels like an epilogue to a career Mr Miyazaki ended so masterfully with this film. Everything about it is gorgeous. Every single adult in the world should just watch The Wind Rises. It's probably the best Studio Ghibli movie.
