The Brutalist 2024
I really enjoyed this film and thought it was excellent on many accounts. However, there is one thing I found slightly dishonest—and I hope I am not alone in thinking this.
The Brutalist presents itself with the verisimilitude of a biopic, but in actuality, is entirely fictional with no elements being based on preexisting narratives or even preexisting buildings (by which I mean, the buildings as such; of course they are based on a preexisting architectural style of building).

Margaret Qualley is nothing short of phenomenal. Her performance is palpably twisted. Super, super, super amazing.
Film was all shot at one location and in one room. Felt very “theatrical” in the sense of seeing a play at a theater. You are more or less a fly on the wall during their whole charade, and I enjoy that sort inconspicuous viewing experience. It engenders a rather uncomfortable feeling, like we shouldn’t be there in the room with them.
