I finally got a chance to watch this year’s Oscars darling ANORA and even after all the hype, awards and word of mouth, it still found multiple ways to shock me.

The film is very well written, directed and performed by the entire cast, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves, this is Mikey Madison’s film and ONLY Mikey Madison’s film. She deserved the Academy Award for Best Lead Actress, without question, and this role specifically has put her in a category…

Robert Eggers is a different kind of filmmaker, this dude is CRAZY. Bill Skarsgard has never been a character more than Nosferatu. The visuals, the score, the performances. NOSFERATU is as unique as they come.

Steven Soderbergh doing Soderbergh things. I went in completely blind to this film, only hearing word of mouth and goodness am I happy I did. I cannot express enough surprised I was by this film.  It is without a doubt the best of 2025 so far.

From the opening tracking shot and brilliantly written characters and dialogue pieces to Michael Fassbender’s unbelievable performance George Woodhouse, this film is a reminder how masterful Soderbergh is at full strength. It also doesn’t…

Yeah, no question not just the best Planet of the Apes film, but one of the best films I’ve ever seen. It gets better with age. Matt Reeves steps in and takes this story in a ruthless but beautiful direction that features story, character, action, and emotion. Andy Serkis absolutely shines as Caesar while it also features one of the best human stories in a “monster” movie ever. I will never get tired of this film.
