Tell me this movie is written and directed by a white filmmaker without telling me.

The racial politics and dynamics between these characters are completely ignored. The only other Black woman in this story (and seems like in this entire small French town) is instantly villainized by her biracial niece and everyone around her. Even her Queerness has no agency or complexity.
