Halloween Ends 2022
Not the finale most people are expecting, nor is it one that most people will want. But if you judge the film by its own merits, it’s actually not that bad. It asks some interesting questions about the nature of evil and the town’s role in it. Laurie and Michael’s feud is on the back burner for most of the movie, but it was replaced by a fairly interesting story about a new character’s slow descent into evil, driven by the environment he’s in. In terms of the greater trilogy, the film doesn’t really fit, but as a singular experience, it’s worth a watch.

The film is definitely held back by the limitations and special effects and budget. The writing isn’t much better. And despite the title, Dr. Strange feels like a supporting character for most of the story. He is a passive protagonist, instead of being an active protagonist. For some reason, they also decided to change his origin and make him a psychiatrist. I suspect to build up psychedelic storylines for potential sequels or series.
