I fell asleep so potentially missed large parts and also did not finish it. But this was not good. Falls into the category of film where the plot is developed by allowing what in real life may be quite gradual changes or at least significant life decisions to be made in moments or even just large character developments/plot moments to happen without much thought from the characters, which results in little sympathy, empathy and even just general interest in the film. Was the script bad or was the acting bad? Or both!

A Complete Unknown 2024
Enjoyable film, but feel like biopics about singers in which 60% of the film is them on stage singing or pretending to sing can only be so good (to be fair I didn’t know Timothy Charlemagne is signing his own songs) . Knew nothing about Bob Dylan before, wouldn’t say this revealed a lot more but I now know more than I did. Did not like Timmy’s accent. (I have been listening to some Bob Dylan and Joan Baez and somehow that’s made the film and the portrayals feel better).

The Assistant 2019
Too slow, not enough reward. And I thought the dialogue was annoyingly shy. Very pastel/grey colour scheme too, which again you can see the thought process but needed more of something I think. Jodie Garner is great though.
