    “Why am I here… I don’t know the lines.”

Buñuel’s magnum opus; a masterclass on the famously misbranded title of surrealism; an unfathomable conjunction of simultaneously the waking and unconscious mind. All titles seemingly appropriate for what might well be one of the best films of all time.

It may have been a mistake (or a blessing) that I ended up watching this film at around midnight. While I admittedly started the viewing experience in a rather lackadaisical state, I…

    Everyone is everyone.

This movie is amazingly brilliant. Synecdoche, New York is one of the most inventive and harshly true films I’ve ever seen and will most likely ever see. Never has a film made me think more then this, and while I believe that the larger freedom that comes with the art of cinema is the right for the viewer come to their own conclusion, this picture has really resonated with me for the meaning I have found, and…

Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse is just such a fun movie to experience. I know I’m a little late so I probably won’t be stating anything new, but the animation is an honest work of art. Every single frame and character and dimension has so much love put into it it’s honestly outstanding. The fan service is also top notch and I’m sure there’s tons of stuff I didn’t catch. I’d honestly say this was a better watch then the…

Still think this is wildly misunderstood and while not perfect, brings a lot new to the table as far as storytelling and filmography as a whole. I think I do have a better grasp on the message, however I would agree that at times I feel it could’ve executed its point without as much, movie. I feel that would’ve made it more accessible, however I’m also not super confident because I’m not quite sure if people truly despise the long runtime, or just don’t like the movie as a whole. Anyway, amazing movie and one of Ari’s best.
