The more you just go with this one the better it gets. Adam Driver does his damnedest, and sometimes you wonder if Terry Gilliam should have cast him here (or made this movie at all). Cast your logic aside; you won’t be needing it here. Instead, soak up the absurd, the pomp, the ridiculousness. Don’t be afraid to be a knight errant of your own imagination!

Watching this felt like I was being pranked. Was I in the right theater? Surely this couldn’t be the hideously scary psychological thriller on par with Hereditary and The Exorcist, because this movie absolutely stunk. The grey-washed visuals, the gratingly hammy Nicholas Cage performance, and the Satanic mysticism (carried out in the stupidest fucking way possible oh my god). I never say movies waste my time, even the bad ones, but I’m willing to make an exception here.
