I noticed and appreciated many visual aspects influenced by Ito, Kubrick, and Aronofsky. Parts of the film were hilarious to watch.
However, the editing lacked any kind of subtlety. Scenes dragged on for way too long towards the end. This was a messy and cheesy execution of an interesting concept. There were many times the film could’ve ended on an ominous and ambiguous note to allow viewers to think and interpret on their own. Instead, everything was spoon-fed to the audience, which undermined the overall plot.
