I was excited to see this film as I’ve wanted better understanding of the events that surrounded this tragedy for decades. Though when concluded, I was disappointed more of the film didn’t capture what was happening outside of the confines of the news production room. That setting, though interesting, failed to bring out the entirety of the events that passed. Perhaps that was the goal of the director/writer, but I found it frustratingly confining and myopic. Amazing cast. Beautifully filmed. Large scale production with all the trimmings. Great commentary on the insanity of war contrasted with the beauty of nature and the innocence and peaceful ways of the native inhabitants of the Marshall Islands.
