i was so ready to love this film but just couldn’t get into it!!!! Mikey Madison is amazing, ditto Yuri, but i just did not vibe with the plot… i feel like we never actually got to know much about Anora herself, her motivations were unclear, and a lot of scenes were far, far too long.

The Brutalist 2024
between the runtime and adrien brody’s long and quite dull oscars speech, i was so ready to dislike this film… but it’s actually incredibly difficult to find fault with.
it felt more like watching a play than a film, and i can’t believe i’m saying this but it didn’t feel overly long!!! it’s such brilliant storytelling, shot wonderfully and the score is beautiful. It loses .5 stars because i would have liked more of Ersebet and Zsofia’s stories in the second half
