The more I think about it, the more beautiful it is.
I loved their relationship, and it hit very close to home, especially the funeral which brought all the tears.
So much charm in such a beautiful story about found family, first love, and the love of films. A lovely score and the ending 🥰
Watching again I can confirm that this is one of the best romcoms of the past decade. It’s got some great laughs, feel good moments, but also emotional depth of some actual struggles. It’s feels more authentic than the average rom com, which makes sense given that it’s based on a true story. Sometimes when things try to feel more real they get super cringy but I don’t think this does.
The actors are all great, the humor is clever, story original, and overall a must watch of any romcom fans.
Did not expect this movie to make me cry, much less more than once!
It is strange seeing a musical biopic about someone I knew nothing about but it entertains you from the start and is so visually appealing in true Michael Gracey style. And the VFX is actually done incredibly well, a well deserved Oscar nomination for that.

Possibly a little inflated by nostalgia but I adored this movie as much as I remembered. They all ooze charisma and chemistry and are very easy on the eyes. The humor in the dialogue is perfect, the nature scapes lovely, and the music is delightfully 60s. Etta is a wonderful atypical supporting Western woman. Iconic ending.
Shout out to Zion NP and the Newman’s salad dressing I had while watching this.
