  Watching this again after seeing it the first time in the depths of quarantine, when it hit me like a ton of bricks. It still absolutely does that: truly upsetting visual effects, and writing that makes you really believe that people to the events of the film, this was a loving family.   Not quite as affecting (nor as wet) as When Evil Lurks, but with its omniscient narrative approach, grody special effects, and and generally strong performances, especially from Maximiliano Ghione, it's definitely a memorable movie experience.

  Impeccably moist, olfactorily evocative, and beautifully shot. Moves from Romantic vistas to absurdist societal breakdown with an easy inexorability that is simply crushing to watch. I'm not sure why I'm not rating it five stars, to be honest.
