Various themes are found in this movie, the political state of the current American empire, the rich overpowering those in true positions of government, love & marriage, ect. Yet the one that wraps it all together is simply time. A force truly uncontrollable, yet it can feel like it can be mastered. Money can't allow for complete control over time, but your passions & love for those around you can seemingly put a stop to it all.
