The Birdcage 1996
This movie pissed me off so bad 😭 so much of it was campy and cunty in a vacuum but when u remember how much the story sucks it really takes away from the iconic moments. It definitely got some laughs out of me and I appreciated the queerness of it all but god some of those scenes should not have been in there and they could have made room to flush the ending out a bit better. Also hated some of the jokes in this movie. Man that was a goddamn rollercoaster of emotions.

A Marxist critique on consumerism and the crumbling family unit of American households. Santa transforming into a man with Botox and a leather tan is to represent how we’re losing our traditional values and moving past natural beauty (big belly, wide hips, and natural hair) and moving towards an idealistic standard that nobody can truly achieve. This movie also shows how shallow relationships are portrayed in movies by making both Mrs. Claus and Mr. Claus lose weight and get Tans and modify the way they truly look just to avoid a divorce and an unhappy marriage.
