The Swan Princess 1994
I’ve seen this movie so many times, I wore out two VHS tapes of it in one summer at my grandmother’s house. Though that’s also bc her house was boring.
The animation is genuinely some of my favorite design. Odette’s transformation is so beautiful, and I have sketchbooks from multiple points of my life with drawings inspired by this film.
Swan Princess is just fun. The romance is as shallow as the prince, the animation could be a lot smoother, and overall the film could be way better with a handful of changes. But I think it would also be less whimsical, delightful, and downright lovely.
