Luca Guadagnino, known for We Are Who We Are, Challengers, and Bones and All, has a way of making everything look stunning, and visually, this movie is no exception. the Italian countryside is breathtaking, and the whole film has this dreamy, nostalgic feel. but beyond the aesthetics, the relationship between Elio and Oliver doesn’t feel like it has much depth. most of their interactions are physical, and there’s not a lot that really builds their emotional connection. maybe that was…

can’t believe i didn’t see The Perks of Being a Wallflower sooner. it’s such a great coming-of-age film, and charlie is a total sweetheart. honestly, we all need a charlie. what stood out to me was how they gave real depth to all the characters, making it easy to relate to many of them. the story is beautifully done, and the emotional moments really hit. definitely gonna be a rewatch for me in the future.

Heretic shows mr. reed as a total psychopath who thinks he’s doing the right thing by twisting religion and using control as a means of power. he honestly believes he’s exposing some greater truth, but really, he’s just abusing his power to push his own agenda. the film digs into how easy it is to manipulate belief systems, and it makes you think about how religion can be used for control instead of enlightenment. it’s definitely a wild, thought-provoking ride on the dangers of manipulation.
