    The Fly

    ★★★★

David Cronenberg’s The Fly is an unsettling blend of body horror and tragedy, offering a deeply human story within its grotesque imagery. Jeff Goldblum’s performance as Seth Brundle is magnetic, balancing charm and madness as he descends into the horrifying consequences of his experiment. Transforming his physique from 80s mullet daddy to a deformed, suffering victim of his own ambition.

While the practical effects are undeniably impressive and effectively visceral, some aspects of the pacing felt slightly uneven. That said, The Fly excels in delivering both psychological tension and pure horror, making it a fascinating and memorable watch. Also, the vomit thing? Repugnant.

Despite the hype, I Saw The TV Glow left me underwhelmed and confused. The plotline travels in a way that feels more disjointed than mysterious, and the dialogue often lacks coherence, making it difficult to stay engaged.

    ★★★

Hollywood's most prolific nepo baby comes back with the original First Lady's tale, reaching as deep into the 60s and 70s fashion trunk as she could. Priscilla captivates with muted hues and smokey living rooms, serving as background for Cailee Spaeney's vulnerable and naïve performance.

Her transition from youthful doe to manipulated, controlled martyr serves as a pedestal for Jacob Elordi's lessons in accent work and characterization (becoming proof that method acting is pretty much useless). The story, delivered as…
